Thier CDL training class is a joke! They have shortened the regular 2 week class down to 10 days and the instructors have to cram every thing at you in that short time. CRST is to cheap to pay for a full 2 weeks. You are taught how to back the truck by marks on the parking lot not actually backing to improve your skill…….. I was told to drive at the posted speed limits on the interstate when it was covered with ice and snow, was told I couldnt reduce my speed until I was completely on an exit ramp leaving the interstate…..and had to shift thru the gears from 10th to 5th in the distance of the off ramp……. and on and on It was very nerve racking,I dodnt think it was worth my time and money
Thier CDL training is a joke i went there in the summer of 09 but it ant Kirkwood colleges fault the trainers are very great but CRST dont give them much time to work with pepole. For the company them selfs they suck its not 90% drop and hook like the web page says mybe more like 15% . Me and my co driver are never late for pick up or delivery and we might average 3800 to 4200 on a good week . You will sit and wait for loads and to be loaded and unloaded. They do alot of air fright so you wait for that load for hours .So in a nut shell dont go there its not a good place to work at all. but if you do chose to go there be sure to keep up with your mileage they WILL short you . I did not get fired or any thing this is just me try to help someone out as soon as my time is up im going else where.
